RCM Insights: Data

Objective. Use the Data view to inspect the sources, coverage and freshness behind an answer, so trust rests on evidence rather than on the fluency of the wording.

Data is the evidence pane of RCM Insights - the sources, coverage and freshness behind an answer. It answers 'can I see what this answer is built on', and it is the habit that keeps users safe from trusting fluent but thin answers.

See it in the demo

What this screen answers

Data answers the trust question underneath every answer: what sources is this built on, how much of the relevant population do they cover, and how current are they? A Sales person uses it to show the differentiator - defensibility, one click from the answer; a CSM uses it to teach evidence inspection as a reflex and to validate for the account that the sources behind the questions users ask are real, covering and fresh.

The task

Starting from an answer, open the Data view and read three things: the source, the coverage and the freshness. Judge whether the data actually covers the question asked and whether it is current enough for the decision. If coverage is thin or data is stale, that changes the answer's weight - say so. The task is inspect source, coverage and freshness, then judge - at that level, without inventing specific pane or column names.

How to read it

The classic misread is assuming that because a source is listed, the data is complete. Presence of a source is not coverage - a feed can be connected but cover only a slice of payers or a short period, and a freshness timestamp tells you how stale the answer may be. Read coverage and freshness, not just the source name. Thin coverage or an old timestamp means the fluent answer above it is weaker than it reads. This pane is where 'not enough data' gets established as the honest answer.

Honest limits

This screen proves the evidence model - sources, coverage and freshness exposed - on seeded data. It does not prove which sources are live for a customer, their true coverage, or the real refresh cadence. Confirm the connected sources, coverage and refresh cadence with product before any answer built on them is quoted externally. The evidence pane is the gate on trust, and its contents are customer-specific.

Interpretation check

A listed source is not proof of coverage or currency - read coverage and freshness, not just the source name. Thin coverage or a stale timestamp weakens the fluent answer above it, and this pane is where 'not enough data' becomes the honest answer.

In the field

KnackGlobal (RCM): inspecting coverage and freshness before repeating an AR-days answer to the client is the discipline that prevents a fluent-but-unsupported figure from becoming a commitment that threatens a large contract under displacement pressure.

Practical task

In the demo Data view, take one Ask answer and record its three evidence facts - source, coverage and freshness - then write a one-line verdict on whether the data is strong and current enough to act on, including whether 'not enough data' would be the honest answer.

Self-check

An answer lists a connected source. Is the answer well-evidenced?

Not yet - presence of a source is not coverage. Read how much of the relevant population it covers and how fresh it is before trusting the answer.

Why is the Data view the habit a CSM most wants users to build?

Because the adoption risk is trusting fluent answers blindly. Inspecting source, coverage and freshness before acting is what keeps users - and the customer relationship - safe.

A freshness timestamp shows the data is weeks old for a question about this week. What follows?

The answer is weaker than it reads - it may not reflect the current situation. The honest move is to flag the staleness and treat the answer as provisional.

What does a CSM confirm with product about the Data view for an account?

Which sources are actually connected, their true coverage of the relevant population, and the real refresh cadence - so evidence inspection reflects the customer's live data.

Verified vs demo. Screen is live in the demo at /#/data; the sources, coverage and freshness evidence pane is demo-shown on seeded data, and exact controls, coverage logic and figures are SME-validation-pending. Live connected sources, true coverage and refresh cadence are production-dependent - confirm with product.
