Value Leakage: Overview

Objective. Open the Overview, read the six category tiles as sized-and-ranked leaks (not recovered cash), and name which category to drill into next.

The Overview is the front door to the money layer: it answers 'where across the operation is value being lost, and which category is biggest?' before anyone drills into a single finding.

What this screen answers

A leader's first question is 'where is value leaking, and is the biggest leak the one we are actually working on?' The Overview answers it by showing the six leakage categories - capacity, process, system, quality, AI and outcome - each with a sized magnitude, so the loudest leak and the largest leak can be told apart. A Sales or CSM person opens this to set the agenda for the session: pick the category worth drilling into, rather than defaulting to whatever the customer is already complaining about.

The task

Open the Overview at the cited route. Read the six category tiles and their magnitudes, then rank them largest to smallest. Note which one the customer expected to be biggest versus which one the demo actually sizes highest - that gap is usually the conversation. Pick one category to open next (the category screens are the sibling workflow modules). Do not quote any tile figure externally; treat it as a seeded demo magnitude that frames the method, not a customer result.

How to read it

Each tile is a detected or estimated leak sized by the model value = quantity x unit-cost x confidence - it is NOT cash the customer has saved or will save. The confidence term means a tile is already discounted for how certain the finding is, so the number is defensible, not a theoretical maximum. The easy misread is to read the Overview total as a savings figure, or to sum capacity-type categories with cash-type categories into one headline. Capacity leaks are freed hours or FTE; they only become money if the customer later redeploys or removes that capacity. Keep capacity magnitude and cash magnitude mentally separate even on this summary screen.

Honest limits

The Overview proves the method exists and that leaks are sized and ranked; it does not prove any single number for a real customer. The magnitudes are seeded demo data. Rate sources, the measured-versus-estimated basis of each quantity, recoverable share and detection methods are all customer-specific - confirm with product and the customer's finance before any figure leaves the room.

Interpretation check

The Overview tiles are sized, confidence-discounted DETECTED leaks, not recovered cash; never read the summary as a savings total, and never blend capacity categories with cash categories into one headline number.

In the field

KnackGlobal (RCM, ~6,000 seats): across thousands of seats a small per-unit leak rolls up into a large category magnitude, so ranking categories is how you steer the account toward the largest fundable recovery rather than the most-complained-about one.

Practical task

Open the Overview, rank the six category tiles largest to smallest, and write a one-line finding: which category is sized highest, which the customer assumed was highest, and which single category you would drill into next and why.

Self-check

A customer points at the largest tile and asks 'so that is what we will save?' What do you say?

No. That tile is a detected, confidence-discounted leak sized by quantity x unit-cost x confidence - it is a recoverable opportunity, not cash saved. What gets recovered is tracked separately on the Recovery screen, and freed capacity is not cash until they redeploy it.

Why does the Overview rank categories rather than just list them?

Because the biggest leak and the loudest leak are rarely the same. Ranking stops the customer funding the annoyance they notice most and missing the largest recoverable value.

Is it safe to add the six tile magnitudes into one total to show the board?

No. Capacity categories are freed hours/FTE and cash-type categories are money; summing them blends two different things and can double-count overlapping findings. Keep capacity and cash separate.

What should you tell the customer about the actual figures on the tiles?

They are seeded demo magnitudes that show how the model sizes and ranks leaks. Real numbers depend on their rates, measured quantities and recoverable-share assumptions - confirm with product and their finance.

Verified vs demo. Screen is live in the demo at /#/overview; exact controls and figures are SME-validation-pending.
